Audience:
Nonprofit organizations, religious leaders, and individuals looking to promote global faith tolerance or humanitarians wanting to donate to the FAI cause.
Design Problem:
The idea for Faith Advocacy International (FAI) derived from a class project intended to solve the problem of a marginalized group—the one I chose being those who face persecution for their religious beliefs. The solution to the design was to create everything for their branding which led to the execution of their logo, available for printing in black ink or full color; a newsletter centered around tolerance issues in a specific country sent out monthly; and the website, the central interactive element to how FAI communicates information to their audience.
Why it works:
Organizations such as FAI need to be branded to create a memorable and meaningful visual that users will associate to their cause. The website is the most effective solution for the organization to display a lot of text-heavy information and allows the viewer to search countries and tolerance issues by sector to find ways to advocate for lawfully in those countries and to find relevant news about the issues as well. The call to action of the cause is to the ability for the site user to donate and/or contact the organization through the easy to find tabs on the top menu of the website pages. In addition, the user may find the various locations of the organization, found out their mission, subscribe to their monthly newsletter, and find out about upcoming international events related to discourse surrounding solving world faith intolerance.
Skills Applied:
Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
Execution:
For this assignment, I designed the logo to represent a spire to resemble the concept of faith and the stars to evoke the representation often used by countries in their flags. I completed all the research, selecting all the colors and fonts for the organization, and organized the content layout for the website.
