Smartbunch Kickstarter Website
Audience:
Young adults and families interested in interior design, tech savvy electronics, and the audience who visits Kickstarter regularly who often donate to the causes that interest them there.
Design Problem:
As a student, I was proposed to design a website for a Kickstarter of my choice. While Smartbunch had an existing website, I was interested in the modular lighting as a concept to build off creating a Wordpress website with open space, light colors, and sans serif font to present the modern product in a simple and modern way.
Why it works:
Wordpress creates great themes with user interactivity already accounted for in the designs. I was able to incorporate some additional coding to the WPParallax Theme to design the site the way I intended it to look. I included information I believed relevant to show off the product and how it functions. The design of the copper orange accents, open spaces, and parallax scrolling evoke the modular lighting system itself and adds to its success.
Skills Applied:
HTML, CSS, Wordpress
Execution:
The Wordpress program was a great tool for creating the Smartbunch site. I was able to use a well-designed theme in conjunction with added HTML and CSS styling to easily create my project in the short amount of time required to execute it. All the images representing the product, the typography describing how it functions, as well as the logo came directly from the official Smartbunch’s website. I changed the logo color from a bright green to a copper orange so that the logo was a closer representation of the product, which is available in many earthly-material colors.
