Design Problem:

The logo established a singular voice for a large group of members supporting their team. It was composed using the recognizable Maryland flag as well as the colors of FC Bayern München’s logo to strike a supportive visual for the branding the club wanted to display.

Why it works:

The club logo was representative of sport identity graphics with the use of FC Bayern München’s team logo and the use of a shield and banner being elusive to the concept belonging to a club. The identity of Maryland’s flag and the included title were striking elements that spoke to the target audience and made the logo a cohesive whole. Other uses for this graphic outside of representing the club were for drink cozies, scarfs, and social media profiles demonstrating that its working well for both digital and printed mediums.

Execution:

I worked closely with the client. While the client provided the initial concept for the logo, sought permission for the FC Bayern München Football logo usage, and defined the logo formats intended for the purposes of the club, I provided the design solution along with the digital specifications necessary to successfully execute what they proposed.
