University of Maryland Marketing Graphics
Audience:
High school student football recruits for the University of Maryland and their parents.
Design Problem:
The creative design office with the Terps football team wanted to approach the parents of high schoolers and the football recruits themselves to appeal to the academic interests that the University of Maryland had to offer outside of the more obvious athletic prowess.
Why it works:
Using statistics of well-established schools and visuals of the campus itself creates branding that the viewer can finding meaning behind a message for recruiting student applicants. To reinforce the University’s brand in these graphics, both of the school’s logos were placed in the image along with a list of departmental opportunities, U.S. rankings, and pictures of the corresponding buildings associated with each school. Together with use of the University of Maryland red, the graphics made impactful images that were made to be memorable and impress the audience to seek more opportunities at the University of Maryland outside of joining their football team.
Skills Applied:
Adobe Photoshop
Execution:
I was supervised as an intern for the Maryland Terps creative team to design marketing graphics for recruits and their parents to appeal to the academic nature of the university. I was given free will on how to design the graphics, along with researching important statistics that I wanted to include to show off for each school. I took the pictures myself on campus and edited them and formatted all the text in Adobe Photoshop for these pieces.
